Susan was predeceased by her husband, Peter Toews only a few short months ago.
She will be deeply missed by her children; Suzanne, her husband Rob and their children Parker, Kayla and Kennedy. Charles, and his wife Christina, their sons, Jayden and Myles (predeceased) as well as, Stephanie, her husband Elvis and their three children, Marcella, Paisley and Isaiah.
Susan was born in Winnipeg and spent her childhood years in the Landmark area. After high school, she met her husband and they shared 50 years together, living in Steinbach.
Susan worked in many capacities throughout her years, and always in ways that served others. She started a career as a birth doula later in her life. She was incredibly gifted and her strength, understanding and genuine love for her clients showed in the relationships that she built during those years.
Her number one purpose in life was her grandchildren. She poured her heart and soul into them and she was the kids biggest cheerleader. There was not a sporting event, birthday, lunch date, or performance that she would miss. She thought about the kids often and prayed for them constantly. Her love and encouragement will especially be remembered forever by her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Crossings Funeral Care. Viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Ste. Anne hospital who were dedicated to Susan's care and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hull Services.
