Nazim Khan

February 11, 1948 — January 9, 2021

It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Nazim Khan, age 72, on Saturday, January 9th, 2021.

He passed away in his sleep at his home in Steinbach, with his loving wife beside him and his cat on his pillow. Ironically, the man with the biggest heart was failed by it in the end – it seems he loved too much and too hard for the human heart to handle.

He leaves behind his wife Lorna of 42 years, his adoring daughters Jenna (Brad Chute) and Leanne (Mark Oommen) Khan. Others left with precious memories include his three living sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and a large community of cherished friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Naz was born on February 11th, 1948 in Guyana, South America. In 1972, at the age of 24, he decided to leave his home and family behind and move to Canada, determined to start a new life, make a new home, and provide well for his future family. And that is exactly what he did.

Naz enjoyed trips to Mexico with Lorna, cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets, and making sure his driveway was the cleanest and his hedge perfectly trimmed. But his most favourite thing to do was literally anything at all with his three ladies, Lorna, Jenna and Leanne.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date (TBD), when it is safe to gather.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a cause that is close to your heart.
