It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather, Leonard Friesen age 52, on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the St Boniface Hospital.
He was predeceased by two brothers in their infancy, Norman and Eddy.
Leonard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by, his wife of 31 years, Liesza, children, Lucy (Rodney), Lenardo, Jevano, Denita (Brenton), Delaney, Rocilia, Jonico, grandchildren; Matthias, Nathanial, Kanyn, Heidi, and Andre. His parents Wilbert and Elizabeth, his brothers; Abe (Elma), Milton, Arno (Lisa), his sisters; Lorna, Doris (Ervin). As well as many extended family and friends.
Leonard was born and raised in Spanish Lookout, Belize. His family moved to Nova Scotia, when he was a teenager. Leonard married the love of his life Liesza in 1989. Together they raised their family in Nova Scotia and in 2017 Leonard and Liesza moved to Steinbach to start a new chapter in their life. Leonard was a self-employed carpenter, specializing in cabinet making and framing. He was recently employed with Hillside Construction as a site supervisor. Leonard was a strong man of faith who sought to hear God’s voice to guide him and give him direction for his life. As a family we will miss him dearly, yet we find comfort in knowing he is now talking with his Lord and Savior, face to face.
