Our precious Dad, Grampa and brother, Vernon Blyth of Steinbach, MB went to be with Jesus during the early morning hours of June 5, 2026, his 91st birthday. He passed away in his residence at Bethesda Place in Steinbach, MB.
Predeceased by his wife Jane Lee, son Paul Dean, parents Jim and Alma Blyth, sister Edith, twin sister Joan, brother Gordon and many other loved ones.
Left to cherish Vernon’s memory, his son Stephen, daughters Bev (Doug), Kim (Myron), honorary son Will (Nympha), grandchildren Dalton, Nikki (Brendon), Jessica (Tristan), Shayna (Josh), Kassidy ( Luke), and great grandchildren Keera, Zaden, Emilee, Kennedy, Navyn and Sutton.
Vernon was born on June 5, 1935 in Moosomin, Sk. He was a son to Jim and Alma Blyth. Vernon had four siblings. Sister Edith, twin sister Joan, brothers Gordon and Ken.
He attended Winnipeg Bible College where he met the love of his life, Jane Lee Smock. They were married July 23, 1963 in Winnipeg, MB.
Vernon pastored at churches in Saskatchewan and then later on in the Deloraine, MB area. In June of 2021 Vern and Jane moved to Steinbach to be closer to family. They lived at Fernwood for a year until health problems required them to move into Bethesda Place. Vernon’s final years on earth were spent here, where he was cared for by the staff there. What a blessing.
A celebration of Vernon’s life will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Crossings Funeral Care in Steinbach. The family invites those who are unable to attend in person to join them through livestream.
