Susanna Broesky

June 7, 1962 — February 18, 2024

In loving memory of Susan Broesky

Susan passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a long, difficult battle with Alzheimers Disease.

Left to forever cherish her memory is her devoted husband Jeff, two daughters and their families: Stacy and her husband Scott, their children Preston, Paisley and Paris, Jenelle and her husband Luke and their children Jayden and Kezra. Susan is also warmly remembered by her close family and friends, extended family members and loving care givers.

Susan grew up in Grunthal, Manitoba where she graduated and met her high school sweetheart, Jeff Broesky.  Susan was fond of Jeff’s Mustang Convertible and quickly learnt that when she trusted him to step out of her comfort zone she loved the places it brought them and the travels and memories they could build together. Sue and Jeff got married on July 25, 1981 and together grew their family in Steinbach, Manitoba where they owned and operated Hairline Salon and Spa for many years.

Susan became a Nail Technician as a senior student and could always be found doing nails or paperwork for the family business. Those that knew her closely will recall that there was no such thing as having too many five dollar bills! When entering the salon you could guarantee to get a warm welcome from Susan, whose loving and caring demeanour would be sure to shine through. Over the years she gained so much love for the people she had the opportunity to closely work with.

Susan became a grandparent and filled the role of Nana with so much pride! Her favourite place to be was with the people she loved. She made sure to have frequent sleepovers with her grand children. She attended each school, church and sporting event, supporting Stacy, Jenelle and her grand children in the most beautiful way. Her most prized quality was her priority to be available and showed up for others. Her sister, Tina said it perfectly, “We will be homesick until we meet again.”

A tradition her family will continue to hold onto was her enthusiasm for recording important moments.  She would jot down memories in her flip calendar, whether they were hard moments or celebratory dates and would remind her family of those dates as the years passed.  This tradition allowed us to celebrate big moments or be reminded that we got through hard chapters in our lives.

These reminders drew attention to what she found important for others to remember. So although we are currently going through one of those hard moments, facing deep loss, she would want us to remember that we are strong and can get through hard things.

A come and go celebration of life will be held between 3:00pm - 6:00pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Crossings Funeral Care.
