It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved beautiful father and grandpa, Robert James Netzel age 77, on April 25th, 2024 at the  Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach.

He was predeceased by his mother, Gwendolene; father, Walter; sisters-in-law, Diane and Joyce Netzel.

Robert will be missed dearly by his daughters; Cathy (Ian/Tommy) and Sally (Mark), grandchildren; Malwina, Zedislava, Daniella and Kendra. He will also be missed by his brother; Gordon (Millie), Brian, Wayne, his sister; Vera (Albert) and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, as well as a special friend who called him “Dad”, Kevin Bauldic.

Robert was born in Melville, Saskatchewan and attended Saskatchewan School for the Deaf, and the  Manitoba School for the Deaf. He moved to Winnipeg after graduating high school. He was employed at Sanford Evans Printing and Premier Printing Ltd. Lastly, he most enjoyed his ASL Teaching Services which he passionately cherishes.

His passions were most in curling, swimming and involve any Deaf sports. He was a huge supporter of Deaf Community and Deaf Curlers. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed many memories at his cabin in Lilac each summer. His favorite saying was “I love you” to people. A special thank you to everyone involved in his life and care.
