Robert Alan Blanchette

It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert (Bob) Alan Blanchette on Friday, March 20, 2026.

 He is survived by his partner Carrie; son Keagan; daughter Krista, along with her husband Matt and their children Max, Emma, and Kaia. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Lisa (Vern) and Lynne (Marc), his parents, Bill and Rose-Marie, and many, many friends.

Raised in Ste. Anne, Bob enjoyed helping Bill work on cars and grew to be a talented hockey player. Bob dedicated his career to Manitoba Hydro as a lineman, senior planner, and engineering technician. He ran a dangerous tree removal business and co-founded the Physique Plus gym in St. Pierre-Jolys alongside his long-time friend Roger Lesage. He also was a certified personal trainer.

Bob wore many hats and was always ready to help family and friends with his vast collection of skills. He helped build many shops, rebuild cars with friends, and was a creative problem solver. Often this meant him stubbornly lifting something on his own three people should be helping with.

Bob’s passions were as varied as his skills. He loved camping, canoe trips, fishing, watersports, weightlifting, coaching and playing hockey, darts, snowboarding, hunting, attending concerts, racing motorcycles and cars, watching a movie from his large collection, and rebuilding anything with an engine. Above all, Bob loved spending time with family and friends, where his infectious laugh was a constant, welcoming presence through the night.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Crossings Funeral Care.
