It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Oscar Choquette, beloved husband, father and grandfather "pepère" at the age of 77 on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, with his family by his side.
Mourning his loss is his wife of 54 years, Lucienne, née Lafantaisie and his five children Colette (Roger), Gaétan, Rachel (Rod), Angele (Kris), Miguel (Anna-Maria), and by his nine grandchildren, Richard (Jessica), Jasmine (Elliot), Chantel (Marc), Dilyn, Jayden (Maddy), Kaitlyn, Marie Lee-Loo, Abrielle and Oscar.
Richard also leaves to mourn his sisters Jeanne, Evelyn, Linda and his brother George and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Françis Choquette and his mother Anne-Marie Choquette née Lajoie, and his brother Victor and brother-in-law Ralph.
Richard will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature and his love for his family. He always enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, socializing with neighbours and friends discussing anything and everything, especially about the Toronto Blue Jays, Winnipeg Jets and the Montréal Canadiens. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Special thanks to Dr. P. Fredette and doctors and the nursing staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre for their compassion during this difficult time.
Memorial Service will be held on September 28th, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church in Ste. Anne, MB. Livestream available at www.paroissesteanne.ca
He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada
