Phylis Joyce Bettig

Phylis Joyce Bettig (nee Janzen) was born on January 27, 1957 in Morris, MB to Les and Elfrieda Janzen. She was the beloved oldest sister to Loretta, Sidney, Dorothy and Bevan.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Sidney.

Phylis married Richard Bettig in 1986 and together they served tirelessly in churches in Winnipeg, Steinbach, Creston and Meadowood Manor.

Phylis was a faithful and tremendous support to Rick at home and in all of these ministries. She served alongside Rick in ministering to many people over the years. She also worked as an elementary school librarian for a number of years in Winnipeg.

Phylis, an avid quilter and craftsman, willingly blessed others with gifts of quilts, blankets, embroidery, and knitted items. Her generosity and hospitality were a blessing to many.

Phylis passed away suddenly on October 19, 2022. She will be greatly missed by Rick, siblings and extended family and friends.

 A service of tribute and celebration of her life will be held at Steinbach EMC on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Phylis, to Meadowood Manor Foundation Inc.
