Kliff Dueck

October 10, 1979 — February 28, 2026

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kliff Dueck at the age of 46.

Kliff was born on October 10, 1979, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and grew up in New Bothwell. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the outdoors that would stay with him throughout his life.

Kliff attended Steinbach Regional Secondary School and later earned his Red Seal in Cabinet Making from Red River College. He built a career doing what he loved, working as a cabinet installer with EG Penner Building Centre and, more recently, with Blue Clay Manufacturing. Over the course of nearly 20 years, Kliff took great pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands.

Kliff had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially loved fishing anywhere he could cast a line, but Lake of the Woods held a special place in his heart. He was always eager to share the latest fishing spots and stories from the water. Whether it was chasing walleye and musky on Lake of the Woods or sturgeon on the Rainy River, Kliff was happiest with a rod in hand. He also enjoyed deer, duck and goose hunting and spending spring days searching for wild morel mushrooms.

When he wasn’t outdoors, Kliff loved spending time with family and friends. He was known for his sense of humour and always seemed to have the perfect joke ready. He enjoyed sharing his fishing adventures, making the best jigs, and hosting a good fish fry. At home, he loved dance parties with his daughters, cranking dance and EDM music with friends until the speakers gave out, and sitting outside in the summer tossing a ball for the family dog, Oakley, using a hockey stick. Kliff could also never pass up a good garage sale.

Those who knew Kliff will remember him as a gentle soul and a man of few words, whose actions spoke louder than words ever needed to. He loved deeply and unconditionally. He loved making giesso for all his family and friends. He was hardworking, driven, and always ready to drop what he was doing to help someone in need. Kliff had big dreams and strong passions, and he held a deep respect for nature and the outdoors.

Kliff will be deeply missed by his wife, Monica, his daughters Kaida and Makara, and his son-in-law, Tyson. He is also lovingly remembered by his parents, Isaac and Leni Dueck, his parents-in-law, Ed and Helen Giesbrecht, his brother Stan Dueck (Aimee), and his sister Gen Shahin (Ali), along with his siblings in law Jacquie Penner (Shawn), and Peter Giesbrecht (Sabrina), along with many nieces/nephews, extended family and close friends.

A funeral service will be held at Southland Church in Steinbach on Friday, March 13, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing one hour prior and a reception to follow the service.

Kliff was a man whose presence was steady and whose kindness ran deep. Though he spoke few words, the love he showed through his actions will remain with all who knew him.

For those wishing to honour Kliff’s memory in a meaningful way, a GoFundMe page has been created to support Monica and Kliff’s beloved girls as they navigate the days ahead. Support the Go Fund Me by Clicking Here.
