It is with shattered hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Kevin Wynn on Thursday, July 10 2025 at age 56. Cherished son of the late Edward Wynn and survived by beloved mother Margaret Wynn. Survived by loving wife and best friend Kelsey, they shared 17 beautiful years together. Proud Father of Morgan Wynn, Devon Wynn, and Jorja Wynn. Devoted Poppa to Malcom. Survived by siblings Brenda Hunt (Randy) and Jonathan Wynn, and many nieces and nephews. Kevin was born in Fort William, Ontario. He spent his early years in Sioux Lookout, ON and moved to Swan River, MB with his family at age 13. Through high school Kevin excelled in the Air Cadet program and after graduation he fulfilled a promise to his Grandfather by joining the Lake Superior Scottish Regiment in Thunder Bay Ontario as an Infanteer. Kevin was especially proud to have fulfilled this promise, and to have completed the challenging training alongside his best friend Craig Parker.
Kevin was a man of service. He showed this dedication as an RCMP Constable for 20 years, serving Manitoba communities Easterville, Selkirk, Blood Vein, Steinbach, Poplar River and Ste Pierre. For 8 years he was the Community Liaison Officer in Steinbach, MB which was the highlight of his career. He delivered the DARE program to thousands of students in the detachment area with great passion. During this time he also served 17 years as a Cadet Instructor with the Canadian Armed Forces, further highlighting his commitment to serving communities through developing youth.
After retirement and moving to Belleville, ON Kevin was known to enjoy an afternoon out on the green, often golfing with the OPP Veterans Association and playing in the JRHL Geezer Hockey league.
During his Mexico vacations to Melaque, as member #329 of the Borrachos- the most feared string ball gang on the western seaboard, he enjoyed the charity work alongside his fellow Borrachas Borrachoes at the local schools, seniors home, and medical centres through fundraising, delivering donations and giving school supplies to local children.
He and his wife Kelsey shared a love for travel and made countless beautiful memories together. Kevin was a true hockey fan at heart (Go Leafs GO!) and had a true passion for music, especially when it came to playing his bass guitar.
To honour Kevin’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Kevin's Life will be held at the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach, MB on Friday July 25, 2025. Military and Police personnel are invited to attend in uniform to honour Kevin’s passion for service. Doors Open/Visitation: 1200 hrs; Service: 1300 hrs; Happy Hour to follow.
