John Reimer

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John Andrew Reimer age 74, on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre. Irene was able to be by his side during his final hour, after being kept apart for the past 5 weeks.

John was predeceased by 1 granddaughter, his parents, Harvey and Violet Reimer, 1 brother, and 1 sister.

John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56-years Irene; his children Stanley (Jodie), Rodney (Arvella), Richard (Marcella), Bonita (Edwin), Lisa (Stuart), 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. As well as 1 brother, 4 sisters and their families.

John had a passion for trucking, his career spanned 47 years. John enjoyed spending time with family having a special spot in his heart for his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be remembered as that grandpa who always had Wint-O-Green Life Savers in his pocket. His sense of humor and his caring personality will be forever remembered. He will be greatly missed by his trucker buddies, his coffee friends, and the Sunday morning breakfast bunch.

The family takes great comfort in knowing the Lord has called him home. John is no longer suffering, and they know they will meet again in Heaven.

A family viewing will be from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Crossings Funeral Care. Followed by a private graveside service at the Ridgewood EMC Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date when restrictions are lifted, and all family and friends can come together to celebrate John’s life.

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at the Health Sciences Center, the staff at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre and Dr. Mark Duerksen, for the care and compassion shown during his stay.
