Janice Bernice Badiuk

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, Janice Bernice Badiuk passed away suddenly due to a heart condition at St. Boniface Hospital. She was 75.

Janice was born in Guelph, Ontario, on July 23, 1950. She later moved with her parents and older sister to Kitchener, Ontario. She worked in various factories in Kitchener but dreamed of owning her own hair salon. She achieved that dream after graduating from hairdressing school and moving to Hamilton, where she met and married the love of her life, Danny Badiuk.

Shortly after, Janice opened her own hair salon, which she operated for many years before retiring in 2009. In her retirement, she enjoyed building and selling miniature houses. When Danny was transferred to Winnipeg, Manitoba, they relocated there, and in 2016 they moved to Steinbach to enjoy a slower pace of life.

Janice and Danny loved to travel, taking many vacations to Florida, Virginia, Mexico, Panama, and the Bahamas. They also enjoyed five Caribbean cruises together.

Janice is survived by her husband, Danny; her son, Shawn (Trish); her stepdaughter, Lori (Leon); and her sister, Ann. She also leaves behind many cousins in southern Ontario. Janice was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Hazel Carter.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held at Crossings Funeral Care in Steinbach, Manitoba at 10 AM on Friday November 7, 2025, with visitation starting at 9:30 AM.
