James Henry Nissen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Henry (Jim) Nissen, who passed away on October 30, 2026, in Steinbach, Manitoba, with his family by his side. He was 73 years old.

Jim was born on November 24, 1952, in Yankton, South Dakota. He leaves behind his loving wife, Deborah Jean Nissen, and his children: Matt (Nicole), Kris (Joy), Ashleigh (Derron), and James (Deena).

He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister, grandchildren, great-grandchild, nieces, and nephews, along with many other family members and friends.

Jim enjoyed watching sports and cheering on his favourite teams, the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Toronto Raptors. He also had a love for Dr Pepper, one of those little things that made him who he was.

Jim was predeceased by his parents and his brother.

He leaves behind a family who will cherish their memories of him and carry those memories forward. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

As per Jim's wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no funeral service.
