Jim Kirkland

After a lengthy illness, Jim Kirkland of Richer, Manitoba, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Ste. Anne Hospital in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, with his loved ones by his side.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 42 years, Marlene; his son Daniel (Melissa); his grandchildren Neeko, Jaden,  Derri (Justin), and Savanna (Matthew); and his great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Cathy (George), brother Mel, and his niece Stephanie, nephews Ryan, Donovan, and Devin. 

Jim spent many years as a long-haul truck driver—a job he truly loved. When he wasn’t on the road, he enjoyed working on old cars and could often be found in the garage with his friends, tinkering under the hood, sharing stories, and lending a hand. His passion for classic vehicles and the friendships built around them brought him great joy throughout his life.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place, and no formal service is being planned.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to any animal shelter of your choice.
