Grace Waldner

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Grace Waldner, on December 15, at St. Boniface at the age of 73 years.

Grace will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Benjamin Waldner; her children: Dustin (Tammy) Waldner, Stacey (Sarah) Waldner, Dwight (Delilah) Waldner, and April (Leo) Sutherland; and her cherished granddaughter, Addison Sutherland.

Born on April 2, 1952, in Steinbach, Manitoba, Grace was born to Sam and Agatha Schroeder. She was raised in Rosenort by her foster parents, Isaac and Mary Loewen, who played an important role in shaping the person she became.

Grace was known for her strong work ethic and her love of staying busy. She took great pride in her work and genuinely enjoyed the time she spent with the clients she cared for. She had a deep love for animals and was rarely without a cat by her side; her beloved companion, Mitzy, held a very special place in her heart.

Fearless and independent, Grace was never hesitant to embrace change or begin a new chapter in her life. She treasured her childhood friendships and remained closely connected through letters and texts over the years. Christmas was her favorite season, and she delighted in filling her home with festive decorations and joyful celebrations.

A celebration of Grace’s life will be held on December 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossings Funeral Care in Steinbach, Manitoba.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Annalie and Val for their kindness, visits, and assistance with the many tasks that meant so much to her.
