It is with grieving hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, Emily Dueck, on September 3, 2025, at the age of 69, in Ste. Anne, Manitoba.

Also left to remember Emily are her sisters, Cecile (Andre) Bernardin, Dawn (Roger) Penner, Ginette (Abe) Dueck; and brother, Richard Delorme; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Martha Dueck, Agatha and Bert Curè, Aaron and Marge Dueck, Abe and Ginette Dueck, Beatrice Dueck, Martin Dueck, and Kathy Vandell; and many nieces and nephews.
Emily was a sweet, soft spoken beauty, who always looked to God’s word for the answers in her life. Although she only had 7 children of her own, she was a mother and nannie to many. She would make her home feel like your home, regardless of whether there was only floorspace to sit, or if it was past midnight. If someone needed, she was hospitable. Anyone who knew Emily, knew what a hard worker and amazing homemaker she was. She always had the laundry going, and the dishes done. She was known for her taco salad at any potluck or gathering. Her canned deer was always a big hit, even to those who’d say they didn’t care for wild venison. Her dill pickles and pickled beets were the best! Her vegetable garden each summer provided for canning in the fall to fill the pantry all winter. The coffee was always on, and she never hesitated to set another plate – or five – at the table if she saw a vehicle drive onto the yard close to mealtime. Autumn was her favourite season, but Christmas was her favorite holiday. Christmas baking was a must, and maids of honor were a staple on the dessert tray if you came to visit anytime between the beginning of November and the end of January.
As momma of seven, some things changed throughout the years, but one constant with all her children was, you could guarantee that you’d get a hug, or an “I love you” or a “take Jesus with you” any time you left the house. As her children grew up and got married, she always looked forward to visits with her grandchildren, and kept her “nannie bag” packed with goodies for them to pick from. This could include a balloon she would blow up with her balloon pump, rocket candies, stickers, lollipops, I guess you could say it resembled a Mary Poppin’s goodie bag, the treats would just keep coming. Her love for her family was unmeasurable. Although she couldn’t play any instrument, she had a great love for music. She especially enjoyed hearing her family play piano or guitar, as she loved the soothing atmosphere it created.
The hardest part of her life came when her sweetheart was taken before she felt ready to let go. Thankfully, God saw fit to give her the children she had, so as to have the support she needed to go on. She spent those last years that she could, visiting her family wherever they were in North America. Her grandchildren would always comment on how selfless she was, and ready to do for others before herself. We will forever remember her beautiful smile, sweet voice, and positive outlook. This is not goodbye, but until..
