Barbara Barkman (nee Unrau) of Steinbach, MB passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 56, after a courageous battle of cancer on Tuesday, March 5^th, 2024, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, of 34 years, Allan. Her children, Marc (Chantelle) Barkman, Michael Barkman and Chaylene (Colin) Petkau. Her grandchildren, Brooklyn & Ezra, Emma & Grace. Brothers, Wiliam (Ruth) Unrau, David (Elizabeth) Unrau and Philip (Myrna) Unrau. Sisters, Diane (Bill) Reimer and Sharon (John) Funk. Numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents Jacob & Mary Unrau, parents-in-law Alfred & Evelyn Barkman, and sister-in-law Diane (Dyck) Unrau. She was also predeceased by numerous aunts and uncles.

On April 23, 1967, Barbara was born to Jacob & Mary Unrau at Portage General Hospital.

A come and go viewing will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Crossings Funeral Care.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Crossview Church, 345 Loewen Blvd. Steinbach, MB. Viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Heritage Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.

The family thanks the medical staff and doctors who cared for Barb and the many friends that came to visit her at Bethesda Regional Health Centre.
