Anne Penner

Anna (Anne) Penner (nee; Loewen) passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Bethania Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB. She is now rejoicing in the presence of her Saviour.

Anne was born January 10, 1932, to Jacob and Helen Loewen. Anne spent most of her childhood years growing up in Coaldale, AB. She was part of a large family, with 11 siblings.

After graduating high school, Anne attended nursing training at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge AB. In 1955, she and her best friend, Tina, moved to Steinbach, MB, to nurse at Bethesda Hospital. She particularly enjoyed working in obstetrics and it gave her great joy over the years to recall which babies she had been present to help deliver.

Anne married Wilmer Penner on April 11, 1966. Anne and Wilmer moved to Winnipeg and raised their family of 3 children there. Anne enjoyed being a full-time mother. She was very involved in her church, where she spent years organizing the nursery.

Her faith in Jesus was a guiding presence in her life and gave her strength to overcome the difficulties of her childhood.

Anne is survived by her children, Jonathan (Natalia), Eldred (Adelle) and Catherine, and her grandchildren, Noah, Sergeii, Oleg and Bozhena.

Anne was predeceased by her husband Wilmer in 1998.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Crossings Funeral Care, Steinbach, Manitoba, with a reception to follow. A private interment will take place in the Steinbach Heritage Cemetery. For those unable to attend in person, the family invites you to join them through livestream.
