Alvera passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years, on October 29, 2026, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Alvera is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Wendell), and their children, Justin and Eric (Aynsley); her sons, Gary (Regina) and their children, Reyna (Justin), Sammi (Jared), and Jayden (Sammi); Mike (Roxie) and their children, Cate and Hannah; and Tim (Karis) and their children, Noah, Nate, and Emmy. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Easton, Brynn, and Sophie.
She is survived by three sisters, Rose (Waldemar), Erna, and Ruth (Clare), and three brothers, Rudy (Tina), Art (Deanne), and Leonard.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jake; her parents, Henry and Susie Hildebrand; one brother, Henry; one sister, Frances; and her grandson, Elijah Hiebert.
Alvera grew up in the Willow Ridge School District. She loved school. Her sisters taught her how to read at a young age, and she continued her love of books as the church librarian and an avid reader.
She married Jake in 1964. They lived in New Bothwell until 1988, when they moved to Niverville. Alvera was a stay-at-home mom until she began working part-time at Penner Foods, where she eventually became the deli manager. She really enjoyed the job and made many lifelong friends.
Mom loved volunteering at the thrift store in Niverville. She spent many hours pricing housewares.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all looked forward to spending time with her, especially on their birthday shopping trips.
Alvera was such a healthy, active person, and it seems unreal to us all that she was taken so quickly. We will all miss you so very much!
You were an amazing mom and grandma.
