Frank Chamarengah

February 4, 1975 — July 5, 2021

Frank (Swoop/Chamas) Chamarengah gained his wings on Monday, July 5th, 2021 at the age of 46 following a lengthy battle with ALS.

He will be lovingly remembered and terribly missed by his wife Joanne, children: Farai, Tendai, Sébastien, Jérémie and Cole;  his parents Gabriel Fresh Chamarengah and Miriam Matooro; parents-in-law Maurice and Irène Comeault;  his siblings Francis Chamarengah, Florence Rutendo Chamarengah Dube, Faith Chamarengah, Freejoy Nyasha Chamarengah Chitungo, Frieda Tsitsi Chamarengah, Frederick Kudakwashe Chamarengah, Rachel Comeault and Marc Comeault (Michelle); his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends and colleagues that he’s impacted during his life.

Family and friends knew him as a strong, proud and courageous man full of wisdom.  The way he died is the way he lived; he wrote his own rules, he fought hard for what he believed in and he paved his own way.

Frank was involved in many community sports clubs such as rugby, basketball and soccer.  He has left a legacy with all his team families and will always be remembered for his amazing character.  He has made an impact with his colleagues and overcame boundaries.  He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of living a life with those you love.

Of all the people he touched, both willing and unwilling, his most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Joanne, who supported him in all his glory and lovingly supported him physically and emotionally during their last days together.  He was a supportive and understanding father and very proud of all his children.  He taught them to be respectful and appreciative.

A private memorial service will be held at Crossing Funeral Care at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 the family invites you to join them via livestream .

Memorial Donations may be made in Frank Chamarengah’s name to ALS Manitoba (Research) 2A-1717 Dublin Ave, Winnipeg MB, R3H 0H2 or www.alsmb.ca.
